XML and Arbortext training added

Yesterday we published training dates for IsoDraw and Creo Illustrate. Today we've added a date for our XML and Arbortext training. The training spans two days, the 30th of February till the 1st of Mars.

As with our IsoDraw and Creo Illustrate training this is basic training intended for people with none or little experience of XML-authoring and Arbortext.

If you are interested in getting the basics right with XML-authoring and Arbortext, contact us!

Arbortext 6.0 M030 is fast

We've been testing Arbortext 6.0 M030 Styler and Publishing Engine quite a lot since yesterday. The biggest improvement part from all the usual maintenance issues being solved is the speed. In most every way we feel that 6.0 M030 is speeadier than M020.

In fact, there has been a problem with 64-bit versions of Arbortext that for some reason have made it slower than on 32-bit. Now, the 64-bit version is significantly faster. Though we have not been measuring we do keep our days in front of the Styler or Editor. So even if we are not accurate in our assumptions, it is still faster.

Talking about a different beast all together we've have had some interesting discussions what we think the future has in store for IsoDraw. There are some rumours (that I will not spread here) about certain very interesting stuff that I think most people will agree is logical. But since I'm not going to kiss and tell about what we think about the future of IsoDraw, I'll wish you a very merry Christmas instead!

Merry Christams to you all from us all at Simonsoft!

Arbortext Editor and Arbortext IsoDraw Training

To expand your know how in whatever field you're working in is great. At Simonsoft we offer training in XML-Authoring with Arbortext Editor and Basic to really advanced training with Arbortext IsoDraw and Creo Illustrate amongst other applications.

Our training courses are laid out so that the last day is dedicated to the clients context. This is great since a lot of questions and issues are answered most effectively by doing. Often this leads to better methods of working in IsoDraw or Arbortext Editor. Learning by doing is probably the best way to learn with these kinds of applications.

We are now slowly starting to pan out what kind of training courses to hold this spring. Therefore we would be very happy if you send us an e-mail or give us a call about what kind of training you would like this spring. Perhaps you feel you want to expand your IsoDraw knowledge or your company would like to develop your own StyleSheets? So, contact us and we'll consider what training we'll offer this spring.

Arbortext M030 coming December 22nd

So, we've finally reached December 1st! Happy Christmas season everyone!

Actually we have another happening to look forward to. PTC realeases Arbortext maintenance release M030 of the 6.0 suite on December 22nd. We have some bugs that we have found in M020 and M010 that will be sorted in M030. That of course makes it a wee bit more exciting.

One of the issues we've filed and that is resolved in Arbortext M030 is the bug with numlist and procstep counters not working in APP. A very nice feature to have working, so we are pleased to have had a rather fast process from reporting to a solution.

IsoDraw users don't have that long to wait either. In february of 2012 the 7.2 M020 maintenance relase will be out. And we have a bug reported in IsoDraw 7.2 M010 that is listed as resolved in IsoDraw 7.2 M020. In a support service perspective I feel we are doing good the bug reporting department.

So, that is some things to look forward too. You can read more about what bugs and issues are resolved in Arbortext M030 and IsoDraw M020 at PTC.com with their Update Advisor. You need to be logged in of course.
