Since we break down the document in many components there is a need for a system that manages versions, iterations, where components are used and so on. These systems are called CMS (Content Management Systems) and are not to be compared with a Web CMS like Sharepoint.
Simonsoft offers both PTC Arbortext portfolio of systems as well as our own development using Subversion (SVN) as the foundation.
In our view a content management system has the following features:

- Where used, Used in and replace functions
- Ability to store language versions and pre- translate documents
- Ability to dynamically publish content
- Image database
- Advanced Search and insert capabilities
